David is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Recognize. He has spent nearly 30 years as a private equity investor, including over 20 years at Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, where he served on the firm’s Investment Committee and Management Committee and led the firm’s technology and services vertical. Prior to joining CD&R, David worked at Goldman Sachs in the Principal Investment Area, and as a strategy consultant for Monitor Company. He started his professional career as an economics and US history teacher, as well as basketball coach, at an international high school.
David serves on several non-profit boards, including Focus for a Future, the Atlanta Hawks Foundation. and the UJA Federation of New York where he is Chair of the Private Equity Division. David received an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.A. from Amherst College.
